May 30, 2005: The Secure Data Management workshop has been extended
The Secure Data Management workshop has been extended from a 1 day workshop, to a 1.5 day workshop. The extended duration is due to the number of contributions the workshop has received. The price of the workshop has been increased from 900NOK to 1150NOK, to reflect the increased duration. An e-mail with information about the changes and information on how to cancel the registration, will be sent to the participants already registrated for the SDM workshop.
May 20, 2005: Student conference registration fee reduced
The Student conference registration fee is reduced from 3000NOK to 2000NOK. Students already registrated will also have their registration fee reduced, and they will be notified by e-mail about this pleasant change.
May 19, 2005: Temporary problems with the registration system
Due to a misunderstanding in the organization hired to process the registrations, the registration system was unavailable from yesterday afternoon. The problem has been solved this morning and the registration system is now again open for registrations.

May 10, 2005: Notifications of acceptance/rejects for the VLDB 2005 program
Today, the paper and demo tracks of VLDB 2005 started sending out author notifications. As is usual for VLDB, the acceptance rate was quite low for the Core Database Technology and Infrastructure for Information Systems tracks, namely approximately 16.5%.
The complete list of accepted papers from all tracks is scheduled for publication a few days after the official notification date of May 13.
May 4, 2005: Online Registration available
The VLDB 2005 organizers are proud to announce that the Online Registration finally is available. Check the Registration page for immediate registration.
March 18, 2005: VLDB 2005 Workshops
11 different workshops have been accepted as VLDB 2005 co-located workshops. Check the Workshops Page for a time schedule and further details about the individual workshops.

January 31, 2005: Note about browser display differences
An Internet Explorer specific stylesheet has been made in order to ensure proper display in Internet Explorer. If the fixed page width in the version for Internet Explorer is incompatible with your screen resolution, we recommend use of the Mozilla Firefox or the Opera browser for floated display.
January 27, 2005: Paper submission system active
Papers for VLDB 2005 can now be submitted online. Check the updated Call for Papers Page for links to the paper submission sites.

We have changed the looks of our web site (from the old design depicted to the right) to a new design that more closely matches the design theme for VLDB 2005.
August 30, 2004: One year before

- March 2, 2005: Paper, Panel, Demonstration and Tutorial Submission Deadline.
- May 13, 2005: Notification of Acceptance.
- June 10, 2005: Camera Ready Papers Due.
