Cirkus: Cirkus Agora

Circus Agora is one of four Norwegian circuses. It was started by Jan Kjetil Smørdal in 1989 and was earlier this year named the country´s best circus by Verdens Gang - the largest newspaper in Norway.

Their program includes clowns, trapeze artists, magicians and horses. Several different countries are represented, among them Russia, Belarus and Denmark.

Museum: Trondheim Art Museum - Summer Exhibition

Trondheim Art Museum has the third largest art collection in Norway with an emphasis on Norwegian art from 1850 until present day. Danish art from the beginning of the 19th Century constitutes the main part of the international fine art collection.

The 2005 Summer Exbition (open until September 4th) is focused on visual art by female artists. It shows paintings, photography and installations. Female estetics – illution or reality?

Exhibition: Paintings for a Cathedral

Nidarosdomen

The Nidaros Cathedral is one of Scandinavia's largest buildings from the middle ages and by far the best known and most important Norwegian church building. Work on the church commenced around 1070, but the oldest parts still standing are from the 12th century.

This summer the Nidaros Cathedral hosts a celebrated exhibition, Paintings for a Cathedral, by Håkon Gullvåg who’s probably Trondheim’s best known contemporary artist.

Movies: Nova Movie Centre

The municipal cinema company in Trondheim has 19 screens, 8 at the Prinsen Movie Centre and 11 at the Nova Movie Centre - the latter located in close proximity to the conference hotel. With the exception of movies for children, all movies are shown in their original language with subtitles in Norwegian.

One of the movies on display is Madagascar - a new animation movie from the creators of Shrek and Shark Tale, DreamWorks Animation. Eric Darnell, director of Madagascar, was also the director of the "Antz" animation movie. Learn more about the movie at the Madagascar Movie site
